Smile Making 101

Southern Design

This Holiday Season, after the flood of 2017, we all have people in our lives that just need a smile on their face.

The inexpensive “light up” figures make everyone from day care to nursing home smile. Adorned with a cello bag and bow, they out shine all gifts priced under $10. They are so affordable you can include many people on your list.

It all began when I had a retail store. The elementary schools in the area were always looking for gifts under $10. They were worn out with the coffee mug idea and looked to me to solve this problem. Once I discovered the “cuteness” of light ups, the schools were happy. Everyday shoppers were also excited to pick up a few of these inexpensive gifts to fill their lists.

I hope you will visit us on any Tuesday, 10-4pm, inside the Church of the Nazarene to see the variety of light ups.

Our 2nd Annual Christmas Bazaar will be November 17 & 18th. There will be many many Christmas items on display for the event.

Let me give you a brief description of the photos in this article.

For a more sophisticated gift, we have a 6” stemmed crystal votive cup with the most delicious ginger bread candle inserted, priced under $16.

For the mercury glass sparkle, we have a 4” Votive cup with a flicker flame powered by AA batteries. These are dressed up with a Harlequin ribbon and are priced under $15.

When it comes to whimsical gift giving, we have several choices under $7.

Our all time favorites start with a Chubby Santa “light up” dressed in a traditional red suit photo 3 and Mr. Snowman lighting up colors inside his white snow. He has the cutest face and colorful scarf.

Many of these light ups have a branch hanger ribbon so they can be used as ornaments.

Back by popular demand is the precious glass angel. She comes inside her own box. We wrap it for you, so it’s ready for gift giving.

For your front door, we will be doing custom colors on prelist, battery operated wreaths made out of real looking and feeling greens – a festive welcome to your holiday home event.

Come visit us any Tuesday, 10-4, at 5616 FM 1960 E., Humble 77346, inside the Church of the Nazarene or call Karen at 713-301-4489 for an appointment.
