Conroe Comprehensive Dental

Conroe & Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Centers held its 11th annual “Dentistry from the heart’ and provided over $33,000 in dental care to the community.

On Saturday, April 17th, 2021, Conroe & Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Centers held its 11th Annual Free Dental Day for the Montgomery community. The event is designed to bring necessary dental healthcare to the Montgomery County community. Residents received either a free cleaning, extraction, or filling based on their needs. For Dr. Gardner and team of volunteers, it’s the perfect way to live up to the Golden Rule!

Building on a Tradition

Dr. Gardner and team have always sought to pay it forward.

This “Free Dental Day” had its start back in 2009, with staff and volunteers working from 7 am-6 pm, to provide free dental care for people in need. The team worked tirelessly, helping to treat those in need.  At the end of the day, Dr. Gardner turned to his team and asked if they would want to do this again next year and the team emphatically said yes!

Fast forward to this past weekend in April. With over a decade of experience in giving, Conroe & Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Centers helped 75 patients and gave away over $33,000 worth of dental care. To date, they have provided $513,000.00.  Many of these residents do not have any other options available to them as emergency rooms do not treat dental issues and refer them to a dentist.  As Dr. Gardner noted, “Being of service to our community is an important part of our mission and using our abilities and skills to help those in need and pay it forward.”

Patients were seen on a first come first served basis, which means that Conroe and Montgomery residents were willing to start waiting in line around 2:30 am in the morning to receive quality dental care. Unfortunately, they were not able to see everyone that attended the event, however, they did see as many patients as time allowed. Dr. Gardner recalled what it’s like to work with these patients throughout the day and how this event is truly a blessing “The humility and gratefulness of the patients we treated that day provides our team and all of our volunteers with a full heart.  We are happy to be of service to our community and help relieve pain and infections for so many people.”

The Care Doesn’t Stop Here

While this Free Dental Day (also known as an annual charity event Dentistry from the Heart) is great for helping the underprivileged of the community, that’s not all this team is capable of. During November every year Conroe & Montgomery Comprehensive Dental Center also hosts Dentistry for Veterans, at which they provide service to veterans from the armed forces for free. Pre-screening for this event happens in October. Both of these events have been successful for both the community and the volunteers. However, this level of care doesn’t just happen twice a year. You can expect this level of service and care anytime you step into their offices.  One-of-a-kind treatment is what they provide every day.
