Youth Dance

Youth Dance classes are now open for summer enrollment at the C.K. Ray Recreation Center. Tap, ballet and jazz programs offer students ages 3 to 11 years old an opportunity to experience dance for the first time or continue to advance their skills.  Classes are offered for three weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  The registration fee is $35 for City of Conroe residents and $44 for non-residents. Learn to Swim Class Session 2

The Conroe Aquatic Center offers American Red Cross Learn to Swim classes for everyone over the age of 6 months. Conroe residents can register online beginning Monday, June 19 non-residents Wednesday, June 21. The cost is $40 for Conroe residents and $50 for non-residents. Morning and afternoon lessons are being offered. Residents are reminded to update their residency status once a year by visiting the Aquatic Center to verify their resident address. Senior Dances

Join the fun at the Senior Dances. Couples and singles are welcome to dances featuring bands from Country & Western to Golden Oldies. Line dances and mixers get everyone involved. Dances are held Saturday evenings at the City of Conroe Activity Center, 1204 Candy Cane Lane. Cost is $5 per person at the door. Doors open at 5:30pm, dance starts at 6:30pm and ends at 9:30pm. Upcoming bands are Glenn Lenderman (June 26), Stringbenders (July 17), Hit & Run (July 24), Whiskey Bent (August 7) and Bootleg Country (August 21). Contact the C.K. Conroe United Youth Soccer League

Registration begins soon for Conroe United’s Fall Soccer Season for boys and girls ages 4-13. Cost is $30 for Conroe residents and $37 for non-residents.  Registration deadline is August 6. The emphasis of the league will be on skill development, fun and fair play. All games will be played on Saturdays at Carl Barton, Jr. Park. Teams will practice once per week for younger players, and have the option of a second weekly practice for older players. The season will have 8 games. Jerseys will be provided, players must provide their own shorts, socks, and shin guards.  All coaches must pass a background check and attend a Coaches training and Coaches Roster and Equipment meeting. All players must attend a mandatory skill evaluation to assist staff to create equitable teams on August 14.  Contact the C.K. Registration begins soon for Conroe Youth Flag Football’s Fall Season for boys and girls ages 6-11. Your child will have a blast playing flag football developing speed, skill, and agility.  Cost is $30 for Conroe residents and $37 for non-residents. Registration deadline is August 6. All teams will practice and play games weekly at Carl Barton, Jr. Park. A game jersey will be provided for the 8 game season. Volunteer opportunities are available for coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents. Coaches must pass a background check and attend a coaches training and meeting. Skyhawks Sports Academy provides sports programs where children discover and develop athletic skills and social values, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. We offer children a positive sports experience while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. First Thursday Free Concert Series

Enjoy the sounds of Derek Spence – Tribute to George Strait at Heritage Place in Downtown Conroe, Thursday, July 1.  Music begins at 7:00pm. Outside food and beverages (nonalcoholic) are permitted. Beer and concessions are available for sale on site. Upcoming concerts are The Spicolis (80’s Tribute) on August 5 and Hamilton Loomis (Jazz) on September 2. Contact the C.K. Before and After School Recreation Program Registration: Begins July 1

The City of Conroe provides one of the best and most affordable before and after school programs in Conroe. Transportation for Before School Program will be provided to the following schools: Anderson, Armstrong, BB Rice, Bozman, Cryar, Geisinger, Patterson, Reaves, Runyan, Sam Houston, Travis and Wilkinson. After school sites include: Anderson, Armstrong, Austin, Bozman, Creighton, Cryar, Milam, Patterson, Reaves, Runyan, Sam Houston and Wilkinson. Children attending Giesinger, Rice and Travis are transported to the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center. Children attending Hope are transported to Milam via CISD transportation. Hey pickleballers, it’s time to register for our annual summer pickleball tournament.  Action for everyone- men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and co-ed doubles. Volleyball Tournament

Come dig it this summer at our first annual sand volleyball tournament. All you need is yourself and three others to sign your team up. Teams are co-ed requiring at least one male and one female. SQUIID Squad

The Conroe Aquatic Center is starting a new program called The SQUIID Squad. SQUIID stands for Super Qualified Ultra Instructors In Development. This program is for 12-15 year olds that love to swim and would like to gain experience in teaching others to swim as well. SQUIID Squad members will work with our Water Safety Instructors teaching American Red Cross Swimming Lessons. Interested teens will have an interview/orientation with a Squad Leader. Conroe Aquatic Center Water Park Hours

The City of Conroe Aquatic Center Water Park will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 11:00am-6:00pm. The admission fee is $8 per person for anyone entering the facility. Ages 2 and under are free to enter. Conroe Senior Center

The Conroe Senior Center provides fellowship and fun through a variety of activities for active adults 55 and up. Bingo, Cards & Dominoes, Painting, Crafts, Movies, Holiday Celebrations, Guest Speakers and other Special Activities are all part of each week. Connect with friends, socialize and remain connected to the community. The center is open Monday – Thursday from 8am-1pm, and lunch is served daily. CPR/AED/First Aid Classes

CPR/AED/First Aid training is available upon request at the Conroe Aquatic Center. Training is conducted in a “blended learning” format with most of the training being completed online. American Red Cross certification is earned upon completion of a required skills check. The cost the training is $50 for residents and $62 for nonresidents. Water Exercise Classes

The Conroe Aquatic Center has various forms of water exercise classes throughout the week. Classes include: Water Walking, Deep Water Jogging, Water Aerobics, Aquatic Rhythms and Aquatic Boot Camp. Rock Steady Boxing Conroe

Fight back against Parkinson’s disease with Rock Steady Boxing, now at the C.K. Ray Recreation Center. Boxing 4 More is a non-contact boxing program for individuals who want to prevent/or may already be experiencing disturbances with balance, mobility, coordination and endurance. Enrolling various levels of abilities. Come try a free class to see if it’s the right fit for you. This NEW program begins June 22.
