As someone who has frequented Faye’s charming boutique, A Different Niche!, for many years, I can truly say it has become a cherished part of my life. Over the years, I have come to know Faye Milstead, the heart and soul behind the store. Her passion for home décor and her unwavering commitment to the community are always on display.

In 2012, Faye opened A Different Niche! a 2000 square foot cozy space within the Milstead Glass Shop, she and Ken had owned for over thirty-two years. When Milstead Glass sold in 2020, Faye embraced her entrepreneurial spirit and expanded A Different Niche! into a 4,000-square-foot wonderland. “Retiring was never a consideration, I love home décor, my community, and customers,” she shares. This commitment has led to the store’s  popularity among shoppers in Woodforest, the Lake Conroe area and beyond.

Each visit feels like stepping into a curated treasure trove. Faye’s meticulous eye has transformed the boutique into a visual delight filled with eclectic pieces that cater to a variety of tastes. Since its inception, this labor of love has flourished. From exquisite candles that cast a warm glow to elegant furniture that adds timeless charm, A Different Niche! feels like a home away from home. The boutique is well-stocked with delightful products, including unique diffusers that fill the air with enchanting fragrances and seasonal decorations that bring festive cheer to every occasion.

Faye prides herself on offering only the best brands that her loyal customers adore. With names like Mud Pie®, Tyler Candles®, Orleans®, and Swan Creek® gracing the shelves, it’s no wonder I find something new to love with each visit. I can always find the perfect gift, whether for a new born or toddler, a housewarming, graduation or wedding. When ready to grab a bag for shopping or the beach, Faye has a fantastic selection of Consuela and Scout bags. Kick up your heels or kick back in Yellow Box  shoes or Corky’s shoes and boots.

One of the things I admire most about Faye, is her passion for each season, particularly autumn. With its warm hues and cozy vibes, fall holds a special place in her heart. She often remarks on how people rush into the holiday season, missing out on the beauty autumn brings. Yet, at A Different Niche!, each season is celebrated with style. The boutique transforms beautifully, with pumpkins and Halloween offerings ushering in fall, followed by festive ornaments and twinkling lights for the Christmas season.

In today’s world, where online shopping has become the norm, Faye is steadfastly dedicated to nurturing genuine community connections. “I will never sell online,” she insists, and I wholeheartedly agree with her. “You miss out on so much when running a mostly online business.
