Dancing Feet

Help Support Our Lake Houston YMCA Get Back on Their Feet

No building, no problem!  Although the Lake Houston YMCA suffered devastating losses in Harvey, they still plan to run their 10th annual Dancing for a Cause event at the Humble Civic Center on April 26th.  This is a unique event that brings together the community to help raise money for the work the YMCA does.  Though the celebrity dancers will certainly be entertaining, they utilize their positions within the community to help raise awareness and support to the YMCA’s mission.

Although many know the YMCA as a gym and swim, the YMCA is so much more.  The Lake Houston YMCA has been serving the community for 38 years in an effort to ensure that no individual be turned away regardless of age, religion or socio-economic background.  This year the YMCA will give out in excess of $300,000 to the community through programming that focus to eliminate drowning, Improve Academic Achievement, prevent chronic disease and ensure social equity.

With Insperity leading the charge as the presenting sponsor for the 10th consecutive year, there are many local businesses and organizations whom show their support for this event such as Kingwood Medical Hospital, Memorial Hermann Northeast, Rose Realty, and Edward Jones to name a few.  The night is sure to bring energy and friendly competition while featuring exciting dance numbers.  Most importantly, it will bring together community in support of a great cause.
