FISHING FORECAST:  APRIL BLUES!!!  April is the month for Blue Cats.  Now, the fish will be moving shallow to spawn and can be caught in big numbers all over Lake Livingston. Look for Blues to be shallow against the bulkheads mid and lower lake feeding on shad at first light in the mornings. Here you can catch them on a cork or tight line baited with fresh shad fished close to the bulkhead.

Good luck fishing and be safe on the water.

Dave

SPECIES REPORT:

Black Bass{largemouth} Look for Black Bass to be shallow in major creek bends holding tight to wood and rock. Throw creature baits and craw worms here. Fish the cut banks in the upper lake creeks with the same baits. Mid lake and lower lake concentrate on the deeper boathouses. Fish the rocky points with square billed crank baits.

Catfish – Fish the bulkheads and major sand bars early morning for Blues. Good limb line fishing for flat head cats in the river channel baited with live perch. Trot lines good mid lake baited with fresh shad near the old river channel.  Jug line fishing fair in Bethy Creek.

CrappieCrappie will be shallow in the major creeks close to wood and laydowns. Fish live shiners or a jig about 1 to 4 feet down near the brush.

White Bass – Whites should be transitioning to the summer patterns. Look for Whites to start showing up on mid lake and lower lake humps. Fish jigging spoons here from 10 to 15 feet.
