Crappie: Crappie action will gradually pick up especially the end of September since water temps will cool down a bit. Minnows and small jigs work well along the pilings of bridges and around submerged brush in 12’ – 20’ depths.
White Bass & Hybrid Striped Bass: These fish can be active during the early morning hors along shallow flats and can be caught on rattletraps and other crank baits. Once the sun gets high, I like trolling small pet spoons behind deep diving crank baits in 15’ – 20’ depths over submerged humps and points.
Catfish: Catfish action has been fair all through the summer and will greatly improve during the upcoming months. Fishing baited holes along main creek and river channels in 17’ – 25’ depths using night crawlers, dip baits or shrimp are all good bait choices. Also, the pilings under the 1097 Bridge are a good catfishing area.
