A Christmas to Remember in Lockhart 2026

Lockhart's free holiday weekend centers on the 125-year-old Dr. Eugene Clark Library, which has welcomed the holidays for 37 years. The Friends of the library and the City of Lockhart organize it with the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Caldwell County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Lockhart Downtown Business Association. Saturday is a full day of activities, including a visit with Santa Claus, a petting zoo, live music and local choirs. A regional co-op holiday guide adds that Friday evening has school choirs and the lighting of the Mayor's Christmas Tree. It also lists pony rides, face painting and artisan vendors on Saturday, ending that evening with a lighted parade around the Caldwell County Courthouse that finishes with Santa's arrival. Those added details are weakly sourced and are not on the official listing. When: Friday, Dec. 4, through Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026. The official listing gives a 6 p.m. start. Saturday's schedule and the end time are not posted; 9 p.m. Saturday is an estimate. Where: Dr. Eugene Clark Library, 217 S. Main St., Lockhart, TX 78644, and downtown Lockhart. Cost: Free.
