How we built this list
This is Dock Line’s own Best Texas BBQ 2026 — built from what we’ve tasted across the state, what our readers keep recommending, and conversations with pitmasters, chefs, and longtime barbecue travelers who know the difference between a good tray and a destination. No paid placements. No borrowed ranking. We judged consistency, craft, regional balance, and whether a stop is worth the drive. Where a joint has also been recognized by the MICHELIN Guide, Texas Monthly, or the Texas Barbecue Top 50, you’ll see a small badge on the entry — context, not a scoreboard we copied. Tomball’s Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue sits in our Top 5 on purpose: a Dock Line call for one of Texas’s most distinctive pit-and-chocolate programs.
