37th Annual YMCA Run Thru the Woods

A Thanksgiving morning tradition in The Woodlands, now in its 37th year. The race has a 5-mile run, a 3-mile run, a 3-mile walk and a 1-mile kids race. Entries include a shirt, a finisher medal and chip timing. Over the years the race has raised more than $4 million for YMCA programs. It is open to runners, walkers and families. When: Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26. The 1-mile kids race starts at 7:30 a.m., the 5-mile at 8:15 a.m., the 3-mile run at 8:25 a.m. and the 3-mile walk at 8:30 a.m. Where: Starts and finishes at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77380. Cost: Through Oct. 30, it is $50 for the 5-mile, $45 for the 3-mile run, $40 for the walk and $35 for the kids race. Prices go up Oct. 31 to $60, $55, $50 and $45, and rise again Nov. 23.
