The Players Theatre Company proudly presents The SpongeBob Musical at the Owen
Theatre. Full of colorful characters, catchy tunes, and lots of laughs, SpongeBob is a
show for all ages. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that an underwater
volcano will soon erupt and destroy their town, SpongeBob and his friends have to find
a way to come together and save their beloved home. Based on the long running and
critically acclaimed animated series, The SpongeBob Musical will have you singing
along as all your favorite characters learn that the power of optimism can save the
world!

Love the animated show? Then this show is perfect for you! You’ll see both new and
familiar faces bring your favorite characters to life. David McKnight, last seen at the
Owen as Billy Crocker in Anything Goes, deftly embodies the joy and positivity of our
titular hero. He’ll have you laughing and smiling from curtain to bows. Newcomer
Connor Evers brings all of Patrick Star’s lovable simplicity and humble wisdom to the
stage, with powerful vocals to match. And Veronica Amendola, a talent on stage and
behind the scenes, plays Texas squirrel Sandy Cheeks to hilarious perfection. Rounding
out the leads are Kyle Hamsher as the misanthrope Squidward Tentacles, Mark Doreza
as the diabolical Sheldon Plankton, Izzy Flannery as his supercomputer wife Karen,
Elijah Flannery as the money-crazed Eugene Krabs, and Ashley Pribble as his boy
band obsessed daughter Pearl Krabs.

Haven’t seen the animated show? You’ll also love this show! Creators Tina Landau and
Kyle Jarrow assembled an all-star list of songwriters to create the unforgettable score.
Familiar artists like David Bowie, T.I., Panic! at the Disco, Cyndi Lauper, Yolanda
Adams, The Flaming Lips, Sara Bareilles, Steven Tyler, Lady Antebellum, John Legend,
and They Might Be Giants all wrote songs for the show. Add to the music, vocally
directed by Brandon Christian, the show-stopping choreography of Mieka Phillips (past
credits at the Owen include Anything Goes, Newsies, and Bright Star) and you’ll be
singing and dancing your way out of the Owen. If you enjoy singing, dancing, laughing,
or even just smiling, SpongeBob is not to be missed.
The SpongeBob Musical is full of hope and heroism, grit and determination. Under the
skillful hands of Director Ashlie Driver and Assistant Director Philip Harris, this show is a
must see!
