Letters from the Editor: April 2024

Once again April has come and Spring has finally sprung us back into a colorful season of celebrations. Our Texas wild flowers have started to bloom, the days are getting longer, and winter’s chill is fading away. This year the month of April holds something extra special with the Solar eclipse occurring on the 8th of April. Texas, being one of the lucky states to be in the path of totality. Those of us fortunate enough to live along this path will be able to enjoy the full effect of the moon completely blocking out the sun – at least for a few minutes. According to NASA, a total solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun and earth, blocking the face of the sun. Weather permitting, people along the path of totality will see the sun’s corona, or outer atmosphere, which is usually obscured by the bright face of the sun. Get your solar glasses out and enjoy because the next one will not occur until 2044. Although the eclipse is a hard one to top on the list of excitement, we must not forget Earth Day on the 22nd followed by the vibrant first full moon of the season which has been named the Full Pink Moon, all the more reasons to celebrate the first month of spring.

We hope that your sky is bright and clear and the grass is growing greener with each passing day. In celebration of this new season, we encourage you to venture out and explore our great community as it continues to grow. Remember to shop local when possible as it is the economic fertilizer that helps our community grow.

Until next month,
Gt2, Bentley & Ellie
