Too Cute to Spook: HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe NICU Babies Dress Up for Halloween
Nurses in the HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe NICU dressed their tiniest patients in festive Halloween costumes, from a sea captain to a pot of spaghetti.
CONROE — Halloween got a little more adorable this week at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe.
Nurses in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit dressed their tiniest patients in festive Halloween costumes, bringing a little extra fun to their hospital stay. The hospital shared photos of a pint-sized sea captain holding a "Welcome Aboard" life ring, a baby in a flower lei in front of a tropical beach scene and another tucked into a cooking pot as a helping of spaghetti.

These little pumpkins may be too young for trick-or-treating, but that didn't stop the NICU team from making their first Halloween a memorable one for their families.
Specialized care close to home
HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is home to a Level II NICU, which provides specialized care for newborns born at more than 28 weeks gestational age and for newborns who need additional medical attention, including babies born prematurely and those who need extra support as they grow stronger.
According to the hospital, that level of care helps families in Conroe and surrounding communities get specialized newborn care closer to home, reducing the need to travel outside Montgomery County when a higher-level NICU is not required. For families, the hospital said, that can mean more time at the bedside, fewer disruptions and more support as their baby grows stronger.
