November 2023 Lake Livingston Fishing Report

FISHING FORECAST:  Winter is just around the corner now and fall fishing patterns are in full swing.   November weather can be tricky and make a big difference in fishing.  A strong cold front with high pressure can give fish a case of lock jaw. Try to time fishing just before the norther blows in.  Fishing for all species can be good now paying close attention to current conditions.  Don’t forget the river channel near Riverside in November if the water remains clear.

SPECIES REPORT:

Black Bass {largemouth} – Look for Blacks now on lower lake boathouses taking craw jigs and crank baits. Fish the cut banks in the upper Lake creeks around wood and rocks with June Bug creature baits, also concentrate on the deeper boat houses here.  Fish the rocky points with the crank baits.

Catfish – Good jug line fishing the bays with fresh cut shad. Best days are with a south or southwest wind moving the jugs. Fish Harmon Creek dead standing timber with a popping cork rigged 3-4 ft. down baited with fresh shad.  Also, drift fish shad around mid-lake and lower lake.

Crappie – Good in boathouses to 6’ on live shiners rigged on a slip cork. Fish the deep holes in mid lake creeks with the same rig.

White Bass – Fish the humps lower and mid lake 17’ to 21’ with slab baits.  Throw medium and deep diving crank baits in the cuts in the river channel from White Rock Creek to Whitson Slough.
