Black Bass: Cooler water temps have really made bass action much more aggressive.  Good numbers of bass have been taken the past few weeks by fishing shallow cover such as grass beds along the shores of the National Forest, boat docks and any type of rock structure.  Best baits have been shallow running crank baits, spinner baits and plastic worms.  At times, top water plastic or rubber frogs can trigger a strike.

Crappie: Crappie also get more aggressive during this time of year and will be holding near deep structures, bridge pilings, timber and brush in depths from 15’-30’.  Minnows or small crappie jigs can both be great baits when fished in this type of cover.

White Bass & Hybrid Striped Bass: At this time of year these fish often school together over main lake humps and points and can be caught by trolling pet spoons or bouncing slab spoons near the bottom in 20’-30’ depths.  It is a good idea to search for these fish with your electronics before working the area.

Catfish: Catfish action during this time of year can be great.  With the change of season and cooler water temps, larger catfish can be more aggressive.  Just bait up areas along the river or creek channel with milo or range cubes and use some type of dip bait and get ready for some great action.
