San Angelo's Trunk-or-Treats and Fall Festivals, Night by Night

From a trunk-or-treat at San Angelo Stadium to downtown trick-or-treating and a pumpkin patch, here are San Angelo's free and low-cost Halloween events for the next two weeks.

Churches, businesses and neighbors in San Angelo have filled the next two weeks with safe, mostly free places to take the kids. Here is the rundown, drawn from San Angelo LIVE's listing. Times and details can change, so check with the host before you go.

The Texas A&M Forest Service also lists a Trunk or Treat Tree Giveaway in San Angelo at 5 p.m. that Saturday. Its listing doesn't give a location, so check with the agency first.

Thursday, Oct. 29

  • Halloween at the Y: 6:30–8:30 p.m., YMCA, 353 S. Randolph St. Free, with candy, games, bounce houses, a costume contest and a haunted house. A second haunted house night on Friday, Oct. 30, costs $10 and benefits Toys for Tots.

Pumpkins and corn mazes

  • Sierra Vista Pumpkin Patch: open through Oct. 31, 9 a.m.–8 p.m. (noon–8 p.m. Sundays), 4522 College Hills Blvd. Free admission; pumpkins run $1 to $25.

  • Circle S Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch: open through Nov. 7 at 7305 Bean Road in Wall. Hours are 5–8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Saturday and 1:30–6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children 3 and up.

A church parking lot full of decorated trucks is one of the best things about a small Texas city in October. Families meet their neighbors, and children get to be children in a safe place. Say thank you to the volunteers handing out the candy.
