Montgomery County Welcoming Neighbor Club Luncheon

Montgomery County Welcoming Neighbor Club’s February 2023 luncheon will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Walden Yacht Club. The social hour begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by a short business meeting, lunch and the Annual Teacup Exchange. Guests are welcome but reservations are required. 58th Annual Go Texan Parade

When: February 18, 2023
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Conroe, 101 Metcalf St., Conroe, TX

Celebrate the start of the of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ at the 58th Annual Go Texan Parade as decorative floats intermingle with hundreds on horseback to fill the streets with hoof beats, marching bands, elected officials, businesses and organizations. Enthusiastic parade spectators can line the streets and sidewalks to be involved in one of the area’s most popular celebrations! The parade is presented by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Houston Metro Go Texan Committee Conroe/Willis/The Woodlands Subcommittee and the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce. This year, J.P. “Hap” Hunnicutt and Joe Van Matre will serve as Grand Marshals for the parade. The Go Texan Committee and the Chamber encourage you to join them as a participant or a spectator this year!

Lone Star Throwdown

The “dopest” trucks from all over the nation show up in Conroe, TX every February for Lone Star Throwdown. As usual, we’ll drive the 850 miles in SQRBDY for this can’t-miss event.

Houston Cars & Cocktails

Where: Little Woodrow’s Tomball, 11241 Timber Tech Ave., Tomball, TX 77375 Houston Performance Driving (HPD) brings you Houston Cars and Cocktails (HCC) at Little Woodrow’s!

• Private lot for (300) parking spots. VIP and Club parking sections. Parking will be organized but flexible. Fully fenced area with gates and overflow parking.

• This event will be geared toward high-performance cars, trucks, bikes, hotrods, classic muscle, and off-road trucks. We want to be clear that this is an open event. We want top-tier cars and solid folks out there. We want to bring you some of the fastest and nicest rides… some well-built trucks on and off-road. Bring on the bikes!

• On-Duty Harris County Police will be on station in and around the parking area. Please be safe entering and exiting the area.

• MUST BE +21 TO ATTEND! Little Woodrow’s is a *BAR* and NOT a restaurant. Little Woodrow’s does NOT allow MINORS inside the facility. Little Woodrow’s security staff will check ID’s at the gate. If you are NOT +21, you will NOT be allowed into the facility. Harris County Police will handle any situation that conflicts with the laws and regulations of this event structure.

• Food Information: Little Woodrow’s does have food capability. Increasing food variety. There will be 4 to 6 food trucks of different varieties. We are also working on a steak lunch kitchen area. For more information call 281-516-9993.

Sweet Magnolia Pickins Farmers & Artisans Market

At Magnolia Farmers & Artisans Market, you can find a variety of farmers, artisans, beekeepers, canners, chefs, crafters, leatherworkers, woodworkers,quilters, seamstresses and costuming experts, jewelry makers, glass artists,candle makers, painters, candy makers, crocheters, bakers, and more. Participants are required to either grow or make the products they sell. Many alsooffer custom work. The mobile vet is at the market the 1st Sunday of every month and leashed pets are welcome anytime. The market is open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is held in the white fenced field at the intersection of FM’s 1488 & 1774, right next to Walgreens.

Grogan’s Mill Farmer’s Market

The Woodlands Farmer’s Market at Grogan’s Mill was established in 2008 as “The Grogan’s Mill Farmer’s Market,” a weekly community event sponsored by the Grogan’s Mill Village Association.  The Market is open Saturdays at the Grogan’s Mill Center. The market typically closes only one Saturday during the year, the Saturday between Christmas and New Year’s Day.  If you drive to the market you will find the village center has plenty of parking.  If you choose to walk or ride your bike, it is located just off of the Mill Bend Trail with direct access under Grogan’s Mill Rd. The Market adheres to high standards requiring that all agricultural and artisan vendors grow or produce the goods they sell. You are welcome to bring your dog to The Woodland Farmer’s Market. We enjoy seeing our dog customers and their humans each week at the market.

Spring Vegetable Gardening Class: Growing Epic Tomatoes

Growing tomatoes is the goal of many vegetable gardeners. Growing epic tomatoes seems next to impossible, even to the most accomplished vegetable gardener.  Craig LeHoullier, tomato growing expert, author, heirloom tomato guru, and the person who named the “Cherokee Purple” tomato will share his lifetime hands-on tomato growing knowledge in this exciting class. Craig is a lifelong gardener who serves as the tomato expert for the Seed Savers Exchange and is the developer of many popular heirloom varieties. Craig is a nationally recognized speaker on growing tomatoes, has been featured on numerous national radio shows and podcasts and is an accomplished garden author. Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn how to grow epic tomatoes directly from Craig LeHoullier. Our class is free, but registration is required.
