Dominion Pool Group is helping customers turn their backyard into THE vacation destination!
Designing a pool isn’t just about laying some concrete and adding some water. Choosing between vinyl or fiberglass doesn’t make the process worth it. Building a pool is about more than just that. It’s that moment when you have the grandkids over and they rush into the pool cannonball style! It’s grilling on the outdoor deck while your wife sips martinis surrounded by friends and family. Truthfully, building a pool is about creating a space where you can enjoy life to its fullest potential. From hosting your son’s little league team to soaking in a hot tub when the weather turns cold, a custom-built pool can help you create memories that last a lifetime.
However, not everyone understands how building a custom pool can make that much of a difference compared to some cookie-cutter builders, who build the same type of pool repeatedly. But as it turns out, it makes a lot of difference. Cookie-cutter builders can’t create for you an oasis right in your backyard with their low-quality equipment and routine maintenance issues.
Dominion Pool Group can do that and so much more. From building materials, customer service, and design process, Dominion Pool Group can not only build you a pool that satisfies, they go above and beyond to give you a pool that is truly one of a kind. As they say, “You’ve Earned Your Place In The Sun!”
Make Your Dream a Reality
If you’re thinking “custom pool builders aren’t worth the money”, think again. A tract pool, or “cookie-cutters” as they are called in the pool industry, is cheaper than a custom pool, just like a tract home is cheaper than a custom home. This is not because the custom builder makes more profit. Instead, they are usually more experienced, use better quality products/materials, employ highly skilled contractors, and provide better warranties, communication, and customer service. Most importantly, they design and build a one-of-a-kind home for each client.
When you work with Dominion Pool Group, you won’t receive substandard materials or services. Instead, you can expect “simplistic to sensational” as Dan Pendley says (co-founder of Dominion Pools). You won’t be limited to a few select choices of materials, designs, sizes, or features. Simply put, they can not only realize your dream pool but make sure it’s better than you ever imagined.
Unlike tract pool companies, you’ll have access to “over 400 tiles and material samples to choose from,” says Dan, “at our 4,000 square foot design center we have a plethora of flagstone and travertine samples, decking materials, and plaster samples to choose from to truly customize your pool. Unlike others who work around the area, we aren’t working out of our pickup. We are a one-stop-shop that can service all your swimming pool needs.”
That’s just a small reason why Dominion Pool Group has won over 200 design awards. As Dan Pendley notes, “we’ve won multiple awards from Aqua Magazine and been named in the top 100 pool companies in the nation. While Pool & Spa News, the pool industry’s national trade magazine, named the Pendley’s as having one of the top 50 companies in the U.S. This coveted Industry’s Choice Award is earned by those companies exhibiting the highest caliber of professionalism, design skills, expertise in construction, sales and marketing techniques, business practices, customer satisfaction, and community service.”
Pool Design is a Family Affair
When you enter the building, you’ll be greeted by either Debbie Pendley, (co-owner and Master Designer) or Shelley Skains (Operations Manager/Master Designer, and daughter of Dan and Debbie). From your initial visit, you’ll be in direct contact with the owners and managers of Dominion Pool Group. “Each customer is treated as an individual,” says Shelley, “we want to be hands-on with every project and work with our customers to design something truly unique.”
The mother and daughter duo each bring a little something different to the table. “I work on bridging the gap between modern and traditional design styles,” says Shelley, featured in publications such as City Pages as an award-winning designer. “Both me and my mother are Master Designers with decades of experience. Every design is custom and we also project manage these designs out in the field so that the design stays accurate all throughout the process. We also routinely take courses on the latest codes and designs to stay up to date.”’
Researching and working with clients to find the right material or designs is exactly why Dominion Pools has stayed on top for so long. “Taking courses, searching for specific materials, finding that perfect tile, is what makes our business thrive,” says Shelley, “we love working with clients to see their dreams come true.” They pride themselves on “Designs of Distinction” that can’t be replicated else where!
Just like any construction project, designing is the fun part. Building, on the other hand, can be an entirely different matter. Establishing trust early on with the design process is critical for both Debbie and Shelley. As Shelley notes, “We understand that building, whether it be a home or a pool, can be a stressful time for families,” says Shelley. “We want our clients to know that we’ll be with them throughout the entire process and want to make it as smooth as possible. Taking clients through an extensive design process helps let them know we aren’t going to cut any corners.”
When you decide to invest in a custom pool with them, Dominion Pool Group will contact you to set up a meeting to come to your home and discuss the features, likes, dislikes, and budget for the pool you are considering. They will evaluate your backyard, topography, the architecture of your home, focal and access points, family needs/usage, tree locations, locate utilities, check for easements, and a number of other things. It will be necessary to have a site or plot plan of your house and property available for their consultant.
Following the initial consultation, your designer will return to the office and design a custom pool to incorporate all the features and benefits which were discussed. They will then contact you to schedule an appointment to come to their office/showroom for a no-pressure, professional presentation of your custom Dominion Pool. Here, you will be able to see the many samples of the materials being suggested such as tile, coping, deck, and plaster.
As we mentioned, Dominion Pool Group is a fully custom builder, meaning you can see your dream come to life. Want to have a waterfall that also doubles as a slide? Done. Want a pool built for exercising? Done. Want to build a rock wall in the middle of your pool for kids to climb on? Yeah, they can do that too. They specialize in:
