Meet Local Home Improvement Experts at Texwood Shows!

Have you been dreaming about updating your home, but not sure where to start? Maybe you’re needing some fresh ideas, or insight on best practices in the industry. Whatever your project, trying to take on a home remodel on your own can be overwhelming, and could cost you more in the end. Don’t let your dream home become a nightmare due to rookie mistakes! Texwood Shows provides a resource for contractors and homeowners to meet face to face.

A good contractor will bring the right skills and experience to make your home a better place, and bring your vision to life. Not only that, Texwood Shows provides local experts who are close to your area and easy to reach.

Make Your Dream Home a Reality

Tony Wood, president of Texwood Shows, started his career putting on shows with his father in 1988, when the George R. Brown Center first opened in Houston. With an education in marketing and advertising, Tony and his father utilized the shows to create a network between local contractors and homeowners. Tony started Texwood Shows in 2002 with the goal of hosting live events for homeowners to create their dream home by meeting contractors in person to share insight and ideas.

“Most people are spending up to 90% of their time in homes,” says Tony. “As our culture continues to move towards remote work and in-home businesses, people start to notice things that could change about their home environments.” It starts with something like your flooring or counters that are driving you nuts, or maybe you’d like to expand your kitchen and create an open concept. Since your home is probably the largest single investment you’ll make in your lifetime, you want to make sure it’s something you love.

After 20 years of home improvement shows, Tony and his team have connections with the best companies on the market. At a show you’ll find experts in everything from indoor appliance work to outdoor landscaping, and everything in between. Not only that, Texwood Shows has created an online resource for homeowners with over 80 home improvement categories and hundreds of contractors at your fingertips! Tony says his inspiration for this online guide came from COVID lockdowns. “We couldn’t have our events, and we realized people needed connections for working on their homes,” he says. Now that the shows are back up and running, Texwood Shows provides both in person and online resources for homeowners.

The Montgomery County Home & Outdoor Living Show

Tony and his team look for companies in each major area of Greater Houston, so that no matter where you live, you’ll find someone who is local to you. “Houston is a huge city,” Tony says. “You want contractors from your area, that way if something goes wrong, you know they’re going to come back and fix it, and they’re familiar with your neighborhood.” If you’re a Montgomery County homeowner, check out the Montgomery County Home and Outdoor Living Show, happening March 4th and 5th! Some of the featured guests include:

Tony and his team are deeply saddened by Randy’s recent passing, “He was a blast to work with and his energy will be missed greatly,” Tony says. Randy was loved by many, and brought valuable insight and knowledge to Texwood Show attendees.

Outdoor Home Improvement Trends

Home improvement isn’t just for the inside of your house. Discover some of the latest outdoor improvement and design trends at the Montgomery County Show!

Landscape Lighting

If you have a beautiful property, it’s worth showing off during the day and night! Use permanent landscape lighting to highlight architectural features of your building, outdoor structures, fountains or even your trees. If you’re not into hanging Christmas lights, get them permanently installed so that they’re hidden all year until time to light them up! You can even get LED lights that change colors for different holidays like 4th of July, Mardi Gras and birthday celebrations! Bring the design of your home to life while increasing the safety of your property.

Generators

A power outage can interrupt life for days or weeks, and cause uncomfortable living conditions during hot and cold seasons. When disaster strikes, you need assurance that your home, resources and family will be protected. Whether it’s thunderstorms, hurricanes or blackouts—make your home ready for anything with a generator. Visit the top generator brands at the Montgomery County Home and Outdoor Living Show.

Outdoor Kitchens

Having a dedicated space for entertaining outdoors is a great way to add value to your home. Give yourself the ability to cook outdoors without having to go in and out of the house! You can scale your outdoor kitchen as big or small as you need. Cabinetry, a wet bar, and countertops will transform your patio into an extension of your living space. Consult with the outdoor kitchen experts and be inspired by the possibilities at the show!

A Fun Weekend for Everyone

In addition to the best experts and companies in home improvement, you’ll also find some unique guests like the Sam Houston State University National Football Champions. Wide Receiver Ife Adeyi, who caught the winning touchdown in the National Championship game, will be at the show with starting Quarterback Keegan Shoemaker. Visit these Bearkat legends for photos and autographs! “We’re always looking for ways to make our shows a fun experience for people,” Tony says. “Come to the show to get new ideas, find people who can meet your needs, and while you’re at it have some fun shopping!”

Teachers will receive half-off admission for both days of the show, and first responders get in free on Sunday.
